weekend

i love my weekends off but i have absolutely no patience for the weekend crowds! as much as possible, i try to avoid the mall. plus the weather has been so i great so i knew it'd be traffic and crowded everywhere. so we just stayed local.

at his beautiful church in oakland, spring has definitely sprung!!

i wonder who does their gardening? all the flowers were so beautiful!

we headed to berkeley to check out some shops but it was crowded too!
while i was at sway boutique, he was busy chasing down red bull people for a free can!

CHEESEBOARD GOURMET: great pizza, this place has people waiting in line for their super yummy pizza. they only serve one kind a day and it's always a hit. the crust is super thin and crunchy! this was a zuchinni with pesto, mozerella and etc. it's always vegetarian i think.

waiting in line at the CHEESBOARD for some goat cheese:

after that, went home and got ready for a fun-filled night at WET night club in san jose!

after church on sunday, infront of his house, waiting for chard and emily to pick us up for lunch @ the counter.

soi four

i love thai food, so when my boss recommended this place, and after i yelped it for reassurance, i knew i had to try it.
soi four is located in north oakland on college ave. not only was the food great but the atmosphere & ambiance was so nice, white linen and dim lighting and pillows. it's more asian fusion so the place was trendy & everyone was dressed in more business attire. oops! hehe. & we didnt make reservation! another oops.

yelpers recommended this:
Steamed turnip cakes sautéed with beansprouts & chives (kanom pak kard):
(i was a bit hesistant but it was really good, i liked the crunch to it)

me & my (strong) mojito:

Crab fried rice (kao pad pu) & Angus steak cubes wok-fried with stringless snap peas wild roasted Thai herbs (nuer pad tua):
(may look regular but the steak cubes were sooo juicy and the sauce was so flavorful)

typical but you cant really go wrong w/ this desert:

i REALLY enjoyed this meal because not only was it affordable, it was SUPER DELICIOUS and it was such a nice restaurant! i can't wait to bring my friends & family here!

happy birthday smallz

happy 3rd birthday to smallzy :)
& hopefully many many many more years to come!

sabado

i was off saturday so we decided to finally to go the ferry building marketplace farmer's market in sf. the weather sucked and it made me super lazy! but we went anyway!

nice views of the bridge. ugly gloomy weather.

he loved his organic beef hotdog!

cowgirl creamery: great selection of cheese but super expensive!!

did some olive oil tasting at stonehouse:

their houseblend olive oil and balsamic vinagrette that i bought to have at home:

acme bread: a must!

MY FAVORITE: the GREEN GARLIC SANDWICH from ACME BREAD!
green garlic, chevre (goat cheese), red bell peppers! it was soooo good! and the baguette--perfect! i loved every single bite. (i love meat and this didnt have it but it was still super yummy-promise!) this is what was left of my sandwich:

shrimp cake & potato croquette from the japanese deli: OVERRATED!

after we had dinner at my favorite cheapest sushi spot kitaro's on geary, their philly & spider roll never fails me.

playing with the cam @ charley's: midnight snack: chicken top ramen with two egg whites. top ramen never looked so good.

biyernes noche

after work friday, we had a short dinner at cheesecake factory in palo alto. we had no clue where to eat because almost everyone gave up meat or rice for lent, we figured cheesecake can accommodate everyone's lenten needs. it was a nice little reunion with the girls and the boyfriends :) then we stopped by jeff and monica's place in milpitas.

jueves noche

after half moon bay on thursday, we went on a quadriple date to hana japan in dublin.

half day at half moon bay

i got a canceled from work on thursday --sweeeeet!!! it was sunny so we decided to go to half moon bay.

played around with my new camera, love it :)

lunch at flying fish grill: crab cheesy garlic bread (yummy but small), sweet potato fries (ok, but better at THE COUNTER) & fish tacos (yummy- & really fresh ingredients). we will most definitely come back + they are dog friendly!
